He finally made the leap of faith at 10:02 PM on Monday night. Nicole went through over 20 hours of labor and 4 hours of hard pushing. Nicole showed me a side of strength and endurance that I have never seen before. Not sure how many times I counted to 10 for her as she pushed and my voice kept cracking under the emotion. When at last he showed himself, we just cried for a minute, the cry changing from cries of pain to cries of joy. It was an experience that we will never forget.
Dylan’s stats: 22 inches long and 8 pounds and 6 ounces. APGAR score of 9 out of 10, but he is perfect to us. Dark hair and when he opens his eyes and looks at you, he shows you his deep blue eyes. A tiny old man’s chin hangs on the bottom of his face and connects his two mama cheeks. Long arms and long legs, and when you put your finger in his hand, he’ll give you a squeeze saying “Glad To See You”. He rumbles in his sleep while he dreams about home and his next meal. Like only your baby can do, he’ll take you from 0 to 60 when he looks at you.
